THE BEST WAY TO GLUE DOWELS
When doweling pieces together, sand a small flat on one side of each dowel before inserting them. This allows any excess glue to escape when you clamp the joint. If you don't let the glue escape, the pressure could force the joint open again.

SURE FIRE WAY TO REMOVE A WOODEN PLUGS

A sure-fire way to remove a wooden plug that covers a screw head... Drill a 1/8 inch pilot hole through the center of the plug. Than drive a drywall screw through the hole. The hardened drywall screw bottoms on the hidden screw head and forces the plug up and out of the hole.

Old Masking Tape

Masking tape gets old in the shop and after a while it won't unroll very well. This is especially true in cold weather. As a remedy, I give a troublesome roll a 10 to 15 second zap in the microwave.

Wine Barrel Adirondack Footrest, Table/Stool Wood Plans

wine barrel table, footrest and Stool

Our Wine Barrel Footrest, Table/Stool is designed to go with our Wine Barrel Adirondack Chairs #5851 and #5852.

You are about to have the most enjoyable woodworking experience in building our Green, Ergonomic Wine Barrel Adirondack Chair. One of the first things you will notice during construction is the very pleasant aroma of the wine from the barrel. Once construction is completed and you seal the chair the aroma will dissipate..
The Footrest measures: 14" H x 24" W x 19" L.  The Table & Stool measures: 24" H x 26" W.  For more information go to http://www.gcwoodworks.com/wine-barrel-adirondack-footrest-table-stool.htm

HIGH-TECH DOWEL DRYER

Are your dowels to tight? If that is the case, simply place the dowels in a microwave oven for three or four minutes. This will remove moisture and make the dowels easier to insert. This trick works great for joinery biscuits, too.
